“She Carries the Sun” is a celebration of quiet strength, grace, and the light a woman carries within herself.

Rendered through sculptural layers of impasto, the figure emerges in contemplative stillness, her head gently bowed, her presence both delicate and commanding. Behind her, the radiant sun becomes more than a celestial form; it symbolizes purpose, resilience, ancestry, hope, and an inner light that cannot be extinguished.

Rich earth tones meet deep teal, ivory, crimson, and touches of gold, creating a visual conversation between warmth and coolness, softness and strength. Her wrapped garment and head covering evoke heritage without defining her by a particular place or moment, allowing her story to feel both personal and universal.

She does not stand beneath the sun.

She carries it.

The work is ultimately about the kind of radiance that does not demand attention, the strength, dignity, and beauty that come from knowing the light was within you all along.
